Shopfox W1823 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone
What we have here is the Shopfox W1823 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone. Just like any cyclone it’s made to remove particles from any state of matter, but this specific one can pull 806 CFM which is quite amazing.
It has a maximum static pressure of 10.4″ which makes it quite reliable in removing any particles from the air around. When the time comes for disposal, collected dust is easy to dispose of thanks to the 20-gallon drum with casters and plastic bag liners. Hence the dust is already in one place the only thing you may as well do is empty them and you are good to go.
The Shopfox W1823 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone comes with a viewing window on the side of the drum that helps to eliminate any guesswork of when it’s time to empty the dust bins. It also comes with the lever and cable lid-raising mechanism makes emptying it an easy process.
The 2.0 micron pleated filter also has an internal cleaning paddle to help keep the filter at peak performance. However, one should keep in mind that it is for wood dust only.

Additional Features from manufacturers
Comes with 1-1/2 HP
The Shopfox W1823 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone
Comes with its 1-1/2 HP motor that generates 806 CFM of air movement with a maximum static pressure of 10.4-inches. This will all help in making dust collection faster and more efficient. Collected dust is easy to manage when using the 20-gallon drum with casters and replaceable plastic bag liners.
The viewing window in the canister eliminates any guesswork in determining when it’s time to empty the drum and the lever and cable lid raising mechanism makes emptying it very easy to deal with.
Shopfox W1823 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone collection systems are built tough for dependability and designed for efficient collection, separation and filtration. Heavy duty cyclone chambers and precisely engineered airflow systems separate large chips and fine dust for convenient removal. Other features include, internal brush mechanism for easy to-clean canister filters, electronic timers and remote control operation.
The included Y-Fitting is used to attach branch lines to service more than one machine. Each port on the Y-fitting is 4-inches diameter. The Y-fitting may also be removed to offer a single 6-inch inlet to feed a main line to a multiple branch collection system.
Shopfox W1823 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone includes a radio frequency remote control receiver and hand-held control which allow the dust collector to be turned on and off from up to 75-feet away or closer when operated from an adjacent room. The range will vary depending upon the density of materials between the receiver and the control.
Points to consider when choosing a Dust Collector
Power: As far as this goes, more is better (although it often comes with some collateral noise pollution). While a given model’s horsepower rating or impeller size can give you some decent clues in this respect, the metric you really want to be looking for is suction capacity, which is typically measured in cubic feet per minute. Smaller units with lower suction capacities like the can be suitable for hobbyists looking to service a single saw, while larger machines.
Capacity: For casual users who plan to have this unit running infrequently, this might not be the most important consideration. But for full-time professionals who have saws cutting for eight to 10 hours a day, stopping frequently to empty your dust drum or bag can be a major annoyance. Machines with lower collection capacities like those that have a modest, 1.7-cubic-feet dust bag sometimes have the benefit of a smaller footprint, while models with better holding abilities can store more than 8.4 cubic feet of dust and are likely to take up a bit more space.
Portability: While the massive size of some of the industrial models in this category makes them permanent installations by default, most of our selections include some provisions for portability. Casters seem to be a somewhat standard issue for these rankings, so moving it around might be less of a concern if you never need to get it out of the way.
Most people accumulate lung infections and diseases not because they smoke but because of the quality of the air they inhale. Nowadays due to some factors that may cause any increase in the motility of the Covid-19, making sure that your lungs are well taken off is very important. You have to be careful and to take care of your health seriously.
Sometimes we inhale impure air without knowing. We find that most dust particles may be too fine for us to actually notice them, but then with too much of them collecting in our lungs things could get serious. We get sick with silly things like coughs and colds and ignore the fact that maybe our bodies and lungs are calling for help. So get yourself a dust collector and prevent all these health problems.
